French bulldog
French bulldog is a very special breed, which has a lot of own will and mind.
It is a happy and positive dog which joins in with most activities.
If it is raining outside, they don't mind to stay indoors in bed under the blanket all day. The next day, they can be fine with the rain and go for a one hour walk in the forest...
A distinguishing characteristic is that they always want to be around and spend time with the other family members. They want to sleep in bed, participate in the kitchen when one cooks etc.
The frenchie is a big dog in a small package, so if you are looking for a `decoration on the couch´ kind of dog, you are totally wrong.
French bulldogs gladly go for long walks and you can train obedience with them... but only if you are patient and don´t expect to always reach a perfect result. This will only happen if the frenchie is really up to it and for her own benefit, for instance biscuits.
According to my opinion the males are more gullible than the bitches. They do all that they can to satisfy their master or mistress and if they can only get one confirmation, that makes their day.
The bitches on the other hand are more independent and remembering of things long past. One has to suck up to be forgiven..
One should be aware of that the ancestors of the Frensh bulldog, despite all, a long time ago were used for bull fighting. So there is a certain tendency of getting sharp there.
In general, you make a very good friend if you choose a French bulldog!
